An ancient art form, Middle Eastern belly dance has come to the US from a myriad of locales scattered throughout the Middle East, North Africa and beyond. Passages "A Journey Through Dance" will embark on an odyssey around the globe.
Each performer presents the regional dance style, music and costume from specific regions where our art form was crafted and is performed today. Join us on our stylistic journey through such far flung places as Egypt, Turkey, Morocco and even the US. |

| Workshop with Judeen A Taste of Turkish Rom - begins at 11:00am SF/BA MECDA is pleased to present a workshop with internationally acclaimed belly dance artist Judeen. A long-time supporter of MECDA, Judeen travels extensively as a performer, researcher as well as seeking out beautiful treasures for her boutique. For Passages, Judeen will be presenting performances, workshop and presentations with a Turkish flare. More Information |

| Festival Dancing - Sign up for dance slots AT the show, 1:00pm Do you want a chance to perform? All MECDA members are invited to come and join us for dancing during our afternoon festival from 1:00 through 6:00. Dance slots are 8 minutes or less, for troupes and soloists. We are pleased to feature the two bands Tahneen and Flowers of the Nile. There are slots available, but we've closed on-line sign-up. If you are interested in dancing, bring a costume! Sign-ups are first-come, first-serve and open at 1:00pm. |

| Program Guide At this year’s show Dimensions in Dance, we distributed nearly 400 programs to our audience, performers, volunteers and members. This year, Passages – “A Journey Through Dance” will have another beautiful program. Come to the show and check it out! |

| Vendors This year, we have a few vendors who will joining us with their wares. Our vendors spaces filled in record time! Vendors include: Esau’s Boutique, Lunatic Fringe, Adira.net/Magic Camel, Dancing Diva Designs, Simply Stylish, Ancient Egyptian Collection, Leyla Lanty Egyptian Imports, Zelina's. Shopping will be open from Noon until the end of the first intermission of our gala show. Stop by to see the latest wares from our supporting vendors. |
